So things are a little crazy now. If we didn't have enough on our plates before, I think we may now. And for awhile to come...
Pete's Schedule:
Monday through Friday:
8 to 9:30 am - go to school and study
9:40 am to 11:40 am - go to class (Calc 2)
12:00pm to 1:00pm - lunch with the fiancee at home
1:30pm to 10:00pm - work
10:15pm to 12:00am - wind down until bed
Saturday:
If he doesn't have to work, there's usually something going on..
Sunday:
10:00am to 11:00am - breakfast at the mother-in-law's
11:00am to 2:00pm - house hunting
2:00pm to 4:00pm - open house visits
4:30pm to 5:30pm - visiting with the mother-in-law
6:00pm to 10:00pm - relaxing and/or chores
(like changing light bulbs, fixing my phone and taking out the trash..)
It's no wonder why he gets frazzled sometimes.
My time is pretty overwhelmed too, but moreso with hobbies than obligations:
Monday:
Work, Personal Training, Card Night or some other obligation
(ie. tomorrow I'm going to help the printer do our wedding invitations)
Tuesday:
Work, Bowling League
Wednesday:
Work, Take Pete dinner, grocery shopping and/or errands
Thursday:
Work, Heated Flow Yoga
Friday:
Work, random plans
Saturday:
Work, Personal Training, random plans
Sunday:
Breakfast with the mom, house-hunting, laundry and other chores...
And all free time in between is usually consumed with wedding plans of some sort. This week I'm going to help the printer, find some wax and a seal, finalize the newspaper announcements and send them, paint the shepherds hooks, select and order favors, and put together the photos and music we want for our montage to send to the videographer..
Good times..
So, if class and work and wedding and hobbies weren't keeping us busy enough, we've added the house-hunting into the mix. The past two Sundays we've gone to a string of walk-thrus with our realtor. Finding a house we are willing to actually buy is harder than I thought it would be. And I'm not sure we've really decided whether we want to find one to work on and improve or whether we want to find one we can just be happy in with minimal work (outside of painting, etc). In the former, we'd be able to build more equity by the time we sell (assuming we pick the proper neighborhood) than in the latter. But, would we really be able to afford the kind of work gaining that type of equity would require?
It's been a lot of searching, debating and thinking. But, if what several people have told me is true, we'll know when we walk in the door which one is for us. And I tend to believe that. I need to get more in-tune with my gut, though, and less in-tune with my over-analytical brain...
Ah well, hopefully we'll find "the one" sometime in the next couple months so that we can close and move after our wedding and before the $8,000 rebate ends...
